The death investigation of Gary Farris, a prominent real estate attorney, was an evidence-heavy case. Crime scene investigators uncovered a trail of blood, bullet projectiles, and other key pieces of evidence linked to how Gary lost his life. The tedious task in processing a large crime scene was made clear to jurors.

So far crime scene photos dominated this trial. Just hours after police showed up to the scene where Gary Farris' remains lied, crime scene technicians took numerous photos, flew drones, and processed key pieces of evidence. The prosecution team hoped all the crime scene photos would show evidence proving Melody killed her husband of 38-years. What started off with a hunch that he accidentally fell into a fire pit turned into details of a cover-up in a fatal shooting.

Jurors learned of the details of the burn pile where Gary Farris charred up remains were found. Investigators did their best to sift, excavate and collect all of the identified human remains in that piled up area. The human remains first dug up by police were presented in Court. One of the crime scene technicians claimed that the burn pit where the victim's remains were found was still smoldering. The lead crime scene investigator remembered how hot it was when he started working in the area.

Melody Farris's lead attorney had more questions for the lead crime scene investigator testifying. Chris Shaw recalled working with his team to meticulously identify and collected the human remains of Gary found charred in a fire pit. The Defense nitpicked the lead crime scene investigators work in this case. Melody's defense accused police of confirmation bias in only zeroing in on her for the murder of her husband.

The jury got further details into the murder investigation of Rosemarie Essa. On the stand, was the detective who went all the way to Greece to corroborate Yazeed's location as a wanted U.S. fugitive living in Lebanon. Detective Dennis Matejcici confirmed that he interviewed Yazeed's alleged fixer all the way in Greece about where Yazeed was living while evading the law. After this homicide detective's testimony, the state of Ohio formally rested their case in chief.

Yazeed Essa's defense team began their case on the importance of taking calcium as a person ages. At the time of her death, Rosemarie was taking a daily dose of calcium supplements along with prenatal vitamins. She was trying to get pregnant with her and Yazeed's third child. Next, the defendant's co-worker and former employee told jurors a different side to his relationship with his longtime mistress.

A key witness testified about her affair with Yazeed Essa during the weeks leading up to the death of his wife, Rosemarie. Michelle Stephens was recalling how devastated she was when the defendant was a suspect in his wife's death. Stephens confirmed that she had an affair with another doctor at the hospital where she and Yazeed worked. They would ultimately get married.

Michelle Stephens, the former mistress of Yazeed Essa, wrapped up her testimony about Rosemarie's death. Next, the crime lab report on the physical evidence in this case included details about the victim's calcium pills which the state said had been laced with cyanide. Evidence showed that her dried saliva and vomit found in her car also tested positive for it.

The criminalist who examined the tainted calcium pills testified for the state. Rosemarie Essa's death was linked to capsules that had been laced with potassium cyanide, a deadly and rare poison. Jurors then shifted their attention to DNA analysis in the poisoning death of his wife, Rosemarie. After she died, the defendant gave police his wife's calcium pill bottle which led them to investigate whether someone had tampered with it.

Another key witness for the State testified. Eva McGregor was Rosemarie's best friend. She happened to be the last person to talk to Rosemarie before she died. McGregor told jurors that she talked to her almost every day. Prosecutors believe that if it wasn't for her, the cyanide-laced calcium pills may never have been found and Rosemarie's death could have remained a mystery. It was their final phone call that pointed to the calcium supplements.

The best friend of Rosemarie Essa got emotional as she testified about the calcium pills that Rosemarie had been taking. It was their final phone call that helped turn the police's attention to those pills and eventually find the cyanide. Jurors to what Eva McGregor had to say. She recalled telling Rosemarie's family about the calcium pills that made her feel sick.

The lead detective who investigated Rosemarie Essa's murder took the witness stand. Detective Gary McKee recalled looking into her death even before it was declared a homicide. When she suddenly died, police did not initially suspect any foul play. But, Detective McKee soon discovered the nannies that her husband, Yazeed, hired after Rosemarie died. They were taking care of more than just the children. Both of them were his two main mistresses.

John Bobbitt, who was back on the witness stand, answered questions under cross-examination. He told the jury that it was not marital rape that led Lorena to cut off his penis but that she was frustrated with bad sex that night. In the State's rebuttal case John's close friends and family testified to specific incidents that occurred in the Bobbitt's home life. Jurors heard a side of Lorena that differed from her testimony.

John Bobbitt's cousin faced cross-examination. He testified that Lorena was physical toward John and even began fights between the two. Jurors later listened to testimony from several members of her husband, John's side of the family. His aunt, who raised John since he was five, told jurors that he and Lorena rushed to get married because her green card was about to expire. The aunt later testified that the big separation during his marriage with Lorena was because she was a mean wife.
