Chased away by the sheriff, Blaine is shot and killed, leaving Chip a pawn between Blaine's gang and Roy -- who knows Blaine left the take from his last robbery with his son.

Just out of animal husbandry school, Sandra Knight (Polly Rowles) boldly decides to make changes on the ranch she has just inherited, and to raise sheep instead of cattle. Experienced foreman Gene Autry (Gene Autry) tries to warn her against this hasty conversion, but Sandra stubbornly ignores his advice. Before long, her business is failing, and she may be forced to sell to the shifty Briggs (Al Bridge). However, Gene has a plan that he hopes can set things right just in time.
