Angel and the Badman
Quirt Evans (John Wayne), a cowboy on the run, is injured when his horse stumbles near a Quaker family's land. The family takes him in as he regains his health, and he falls for their young daughter, Penelope (Gail Russell). As Quirt falls deeper in love and becomes accustomed to the family's peaceful ways, his violent past starts to catch up to him. Eventually he is forced to decide whether it is worth letting go of his turbulent former life for his future with Penelope.

Needing all the help he can get, Brant agrees, but running with these bandits only gets him deeper into trouble -- while the real killer remains on the loose.

When the emergence of the telegraph makes their jobs as Pony Express riders obsolete, cowboys John Blair (John Wayne) and Larry Adams (Lane Chandler) hastily purchase a stagecoach line operating out of Crescent City, Calif., unaware that the place is essentially a ghost town. Wary of the newcomer, the sheriff (Earle Dwire) arrests Randy for the murders, but the saloon owner's niece, Sally Rogers (Alberta Vaughn), helps him escape because she knows he didn't do it. Randy then sets out to find the man behind the murders and is led to an evil mastermind named Marvin Black (George Hayes), who has been passing himself off as an innocent mute.

Fresh out of college, American Rod Drew (John Wayne) is asked to assist in the search for missing people in Canada. Accompanied by Wabi (Noah Beery Jr.), his friend from school, Drew travels north, but quickly gets into a confrontation with a gang of French Canadian outlaws. When the bandits abduct the young Felice Newsome (Verna Hillie), it becomes apparent they're responsible for the other disappearances as well. Luckily, Drew and Wabi are there, determined to find and free the captives.
Rio Lobo
Union leader Cord McNally (John Wayne) is protecting a routine gold shipment when his troops are attacked by Confederate forces. Not only does he lose the gold, but one of his strongest officers is killed in the raid. At the end of the Civil War, McNally learns that the raiders had help from the inside, and he vows to uncover the two traitors. After a chance encounter with one of the turncoats, McNally travels to the town of Rio Lobo and makes an unexpected discovery.
