Things go from bad to worse for singing cowboy Roy Rogers (Roy Rogers) and his trusty companion, Teddy Bear (Guinn "Big Boy" Williams), when, after losing their jobs at a local café, the pair are accused of having kidnapped young Chip Williams (Mary Lee) who, in reality, is merely a runaway who's been tagging along with the cowpokes. But amidst these problems, Roy and his partner decide to team up with the girl and her half-sister, Ysobel (Dale Evans), and search for some long-buried treasure.

The Yellow Rose of Texas

This time around, singing cowboy Roy Rogers (Roy Rogers) is an insurance investigator sent to find a stash of money lifted from a company payroll. Portraying a performer on a showboat as an undercover guise, Roy meets Betty Weston (Dale Evans), the daughter of the alleged robber Sam Weston (Harry Shannon), who has recently escaped from prison. When Sovereign is accidentally killed, Rogers is blamed for the crime, and he and Trigger must escape the law and track down the real killer.

In Old Cheyenne

Newspaper reporter Steve Blane (Roy Rogers) is sent to Cheyenne, Wyo., to write about frontier outlaw Arapahoe Brown (George "Gabby" Hayes). But as Blane spends time in the cow town, he realizes that the conventional wisdom is all wrong. As Blane attempts to report the truth, he finds himself caught in the middle of a dangerous feud between cattlemen and settlers.
