The Goddess

As a child, she was Emily Ann, a poor girl in the South with no friends and an ineffective mother. But as an adult, she's Rita Shawn (Kim Stanley), an actress loved the world over. Still, all the money and fame in the world can't buy happiness, and Rita is plagued with depression over her broken relationships -- first to a handsome soldier (Steve Hill) and then to a boxing promoter (Lloyd Bridges) -- and her lack of any emotional connections to anyone outside of her professional life.

Hamlet

The life of Prince Hamlet of Denmark (Nicol Williamson) is thrown into disarray when he learns that his father was murdered by his uncle Claudius (Anthony Hopkins), the current king, who is now married to Hamlet's mother, Gertrude (Judy Parfitt). Hamlet's unstable behavior troubles his love, Ophelia (Marianne Faithfull), who is further shaken by the death of her father, Polonius (Mark Dignam). Hamlet methodically plots vengeance while other forces conspire to attack him.

All the Young Men

While fighting in the Korean War, a Marine lieutenant is killed, leaving Sgt. Eddie Towler (Sidney Poitier) in charge. However, since Towler is black, he faces resistance from some of the men, most notably Pvt. Bracken (Paul Richards), a racist soldier from the South who doesn't hide his prejudice, and Sgt. Kincaid (Alan Ladd), who actually has more experience in the field. As Towler struggles to maintain order within his platoon, the men must continue to battle the enemy.

The Devil at 4 O'Clock

Prisoners Harry (Frank Sinatra), Marcel (Gregoire Aslan) and Charlie (Bernie Hamilton) are flown to a small tropical island to serve the elderly Father Doonan (Spencer Tracy), who makes them work high in the mountains at a health clinic for local children. When a volcano erupts, the young patients are stranded, while the rest of the island's population flees. When Doonan offers to free the convicts if they help save the children, Harry leads his fellow convicts on a daring rescue mission.

Oliver Twist

An orphan (Barney Clark) in 19th-century London falls in with a gang of young pickpockets who steal for their villainous master (Ben Kingsley).

Fire Down Below

Set in the Caribbean, U.S. expatriates Tony (Jack Lemmon) and Felix (Robert Mitchum) cruise around the ocean and eke out a meager subsistence using their small trawling boat to transport cargo. When they take on the job of smuggling illegal-immigrant beauty Irena (Rita Hayworth) to another island, the two friends find their friendship torn apart by their mutual romantic feelings toward her. Though jealousy has split them apart, fate intervenes to bring the two back together.

An English insurance man (Jack Hawkins) discovers his ex-girlfriend (Arlene Dahl) and her husband's (Dennis Price) art-forgery/arson scam.

Milquetoast Humphrey Briggs (Eddie Albert) and his impetuous girlfriend, Sally Elliot (Lucille Ball), are office workers at a shipping firm whose corrupt owner, Harvey Simpson (Jerome Cowan), uses his company as a front for a massive smuggling operation. When an accident causes Simpson's rich and jealous wife (Lee Patrick) to assume he's cheating on her, the lovebirds get unwillingly drawn into a murder investigation involving a stripper (Gale Robbins) and a hired killer (Fred Graham).
