You Can't Take It With You
Sweet-natured Alice Sycamore (Jean Arthur) falls for banker's son Tony Kirby (James Stewart). But when she invites her snooty prospective in-laws to dinner to give their blessing to the marriage, Alice's peculiar extended family -- including philosophical grandfather Martin Vanderhof (Lionel Barrymore), hapless fledgling ballerina sister Essie (Ann Miller) and fireworks enthusiast father, Paul (Samuel S. Hinds) -- might be too eccentric for the staid Kirbys.
The Last Angry Man
Dr. Sam Abelman (Paul Muni) is a Jewish doctor contentedly spending his autumn years serving his own Brooklyn neighborhood. But when his nephew, would-be journalist Myron (Joby Baker), writes an article about him, it draws the attention of a producer, Woodrow Thrasher (David Wayne), who believes Abelman a good candidate for a TV show. The doctor, however, is suspicious of the whole enterprise, thinking both Myron and Thrasher are simply out to make a fast buck.
The Heroes of Telemark
In this fact-based film, as Axis and Allied scientists race to create the first atomic bomb, British Intelligence receives shocking news of significant breakthroughs at a Nazi facility in occupied Norway. The British work with Norwegian Resistance head Knut Straud (Richard Harris) and distinguished physicist Dr. Rolf Pederson (Kirk Douglas) to plan an urgent response. As a Norwegian team headed by Straud struggles to stop Nazi science in its tracks, a civilian hostage situation erupts.
Oliver Twist
An orphan (Barney Clark) in 19th-century London falls in with a gang of young pickpockets who steal for their villainous master (Ben Kingsley).
Rockin' in the Rockies
Shorty Williams (Moe Howard) is put in charge of his cousin's ranch, but he is more concerned with becoming a prospector. He comes across two drifters (Larry Fine, Curly Howard) who just got lucky at the roulette table and befriends them as possible investors. Shorty also meets singer Betty (Gladys Blake) and her partner (Mary Beth Hughes) and convinces them to stay on the ranch along with the vagrants. Unfortunately, Shorty's cousin, Rusty (Jay Kirby), returns early and isn't pleased.
Hamlet
The life of Prince Hamlet of Denmark (Nicol Williamson) is thrown into disarray when he learns that his father was murdered by his uncle Claudius (Anthony Hopkins), the current king, who is now married to Hamlet's mother, Gertrude (Judy Parfitt). Hamlet's unstable behavior troubles his love, Ophelia (Marianne Faithfull), who is further shaken by the death of her father, Polonius (Mark Dignam). Hamlet methodically plots vengeance while other forces conspire to attack him.
The Lone Wolf Takes a Chance
A former jewel thief (Warren William) is accused of murder after betting the police inspector that he can stay out of trouble for 24 hours.
