Spain has played nine international matches in the calendar year and the squad holds a record of 4-2-3. On Friday, the team took on South Korea in its penultimate competition of 2024 and won handily in a 5-0 victory. The scoring began early for Spain as Clàudia Pina found the back of the net in the fourth minute of play to make it a 1-0 game. Amaiur Sarriegi scored in the 33rd minute and Aitana Bonmatí put in the team’s third goal just before halftime. The final two goals were scored by Vicky López who came in during the 53rd minute to add a spark to the offense and she did just that.
Spain and France last met in February of this year and Spain walked away with a 2-0 victory. Aitana Bonmatí netted a first half goal and Mariona Caldentey added one for insurance in the second half of the international match. Tune in Tuesday to see which of these teams can end 2024 with a win.
