On Saturday night, No. 6 Wisconsin will try to hand No. 3 Nebraska its first conference loss of the season when the teams meet at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. With only three matches remaining in the regular season, the Badgers will try to move into second place in the conference standings with the upset. Wisconsin is currently in third place in the Big Ten with a conference record of 15-2 and an overall record of 21-5.

The Badgers are currently on a six-match win streak with the most recent being a five-set victory over No. 16 Minnesota on Wednesday. Sarah Franklin led the Wisconsin offense with 19 kills while Julia Orzol also finished in double figures with 14 kills. Charlie Fuerbringer supported offensive play with 48 assists and led the team defensively with 25 digs for a double-double. Franklin also recorded a double-double by adding 11 digs to the stat sheet.
The Cornhuskers have been impressive this season and have only dropped one match which came against SMU in straight sets way back in the beginning of September. The team has since won 24 straight matches with the last time on the court being a straight set win over Iowa on Wednesday night.
The Huskers made quick work of the Hawkeyes, winning the first set 25-9, the second 25-16 and the final set 25-17. Harper Murray finished with a game-high 10 kills on 17 swings and was supported by Bergen Reilly who served up 41 assists. Lexi Rodriguez held down the backcourt, but was not challenged often and only had 11 digs on the day. Nebraska held Iowa to a hitting percentage of .082 while hitting .472 themselves in a dominant performance.
Nebraska and Wisconsin have already met once this season and the Cornhuskers won handily in a straight set victory on the road three weeks ago. Tune in Saturday to see if Nebraska’s win streak will continue, or if Wisconsin can put an end to the perfect conference season.
