The Michigan Wolverines host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Sunday evening in a Big Ten volleyball match. The Wolverines come into Sunday 11-1 on the season and on a two-match winning streak. They had their nine-match winning streak to start the year snapped last week to North Carolina in five sets, but they have bounced back with consecutive sweeps of Duke and Michigan State. Friday was especially sweet as they whipped the rival Spartans in straight sets to move to 1-0 in the Big Ten. It was a dominant win for the Spartans and one they will look to repeat on Sunday against the Scarlet Knights. The Wolverines have had a great start to the season after a tough 2023 season in which they went just 7-22 and 5-15 in the Big Ten.

Rutgers didn’t have as good of a start to the Big Ten as it fell to Iowa in five sets on Thursday night.
The Scarlet Knights took the first set against the Hawkeyes but lost the next two. They would battle back to win the fourth set 25-19 but lost the fifth and final set 15-9.
The loss was the second in the last three matches for the Scarlet Knights and dropped them to 5-7 overall and 0-1 in the Big Ten.
It hasn’t been the best of seasons so far for the Scarlet Knights, but they are hoping they can come to town and upset the Wolverines to get their first Big Ten win of the season.
