Pitt goes for its 13th straight win on Wednesday night when it takes on rival Louisville in women’s college volleyball.
The Pitt Panthers battle the Louisville Cardinals on Wednesday night in ACC women’s volleyball action. The Panthers come into Wednesday on a 12-match winning streak and are 27-1 on the season. They have been the best team in the country all season long and 24 of their wins have come by sweeps. One of the three wins that went more than three sets was back on Oct. 25 when the Cardinals took the Panthers to five sets. The Panthers never trailed in the match, as they won the first and third sets and then finally finished off the Cardinals with a 15-12 fifth set win. Despite the impressive record in the ACC, the Panthers are tied with the Cardinals in the loss column and have to win on Wednesday to clinch the regular season title.

The Cardinals, though, are looking to steal away that chance and pick up a huge win over the top-ranked Panthers.
The Cardinals come into Thursday on a nine-match winning streak and are 25-3 on the with a 17-1 record in the ACC.
All three of their losses this year have come against teams ranked in the top seven when they played them.
The Cardinals have lost just two sets since their loss to the Panthers. One of those sets came against SMU back on Oct. 27 and the other came on Friday when Virginia took the third set against the Cardinals.
They have been great, but need to prove they can beat the rival Panthers when they play on Wednesday.
