Struggling Ohio State visits No. 10 Purdue at Holloway Gymnasium in a Big Ten battle on Wednesday night in women’s college volleyball.
No. 10 Purdue (15-4) stands in a fourth place tie in the rugged Big Ten at 6-2 and comes into Wednesday night’s home match at Holloway Gymnasium in West Lafayette, Indiana with three straight wins as it hosts Ohio State (8-10). The Buckeyes, just 1-7 in Big Ten play, have lost three straight. The Boilermakers have played in nine straight NCAA tournaments and have played in four regional finals since coach Dave Shondell took over the program in 2003. Jen Flynn Oldenberg took Ohio State to three straight NCAA bids, including an Elite Eight in 2022, before the program fell to 10-14 last season.

On Saturday, Purdue routed rival Indiana in straight sets inside Mackey Arena, taking a 25-18, 25-14, 25-9 win. Eva Hudson put down 17 kills while Chloe Chicoine added 12. Ryan Mcaleer added 15 digs and Taylor Anderson notched three aces. Lourdès Myers, Raven Colvin and Anderson all had two blocks.
The Buckeyes hosted No. 2 Nebraska on Saturday, taking an 18-25, 18-25, 16-25 straight set loss. Emily Londot knocked down 16 kills and has two blocks while Mia Tuman and Olivia Hasbrook each made eight digs.
The Boilermakers won a four-set match at Ohio State in their last meeting on Oct. 15, 2023. Chicoine leads Purdue with 230 kills while Colvin has 18 blocks and 27 aces. Ali Horning’s 272 digs lead the team. Londot powers the attack for the Buckeyes with 323 kills and also has 20 aces. Eloise Brandewie owns 11 blocks and Hasbrook’s 276 digs are a team-best.
