Shannon Wyckoff-McNeal and the Wolf Pack will look to earn a road win on Thursday night against UNLV’s Rebels.
Mountain West volleyball play will continue on Thursday night for UNLV as the squad hosts Nevada at Cox Pavilion. The teams are very evenly matched with both earning a 1-1 record in conference play so far. The Wolf Pack is 8-6 overall and suffered a tough four-set loss to Colorado State their last time out. Gabby McLaughlin led the offensive attack with a 20-kill match and Bella Snyder also finished in double digits with 10 kills on the night. McLaughlin also led defensively, finishing the match with seven digs while Tehya Maeva was right behind her with six digs. Colorado State held Nevada to just .172 hitting, a mark the team will certainly need to improve upon if it wants to make a run at the Mountain West title.

The Rebels bring an overall record of 8-5 into their two-game homestay at Cox Pavilion and will look to earn a win in front of a home crowd to improve their position in the Mountain West Standings. The team’s most recent match was played against Air Force on the road and resulted in a four-set loss. A trio of hitters finished with double-digit kills, led by Chloe Thomas who delivered 13 while Basia Latos and Alondra Alarcon each added 10 kills to the stat sheet. Caleigh King handled defensive responsibilities as UNLV’s libero and ended the match with 14 digs. While it was a strong performance for her, it wasn’t enough to hold off the Falcons and the Rebels were forced to head home empty-handed.
UNLV and Nevada met twice last year and split results with Nevada winning the first match in five sets and UNLV taking the second in straight sets at home.
