Second ranked Nebraska takes on Maryland with a 25 match winning streak on the line in women’s college volleyball action.
For the second straight season second-ranked Nebraska (28-2) watched an historic winning streak snapped in one of the final two games of the season. The Cornhuskers are coming off just their second loss heading into the regular season finale against Maryland (14-16). The Terrapins come into this match on a positive note having snapped their three-match losing streak and look to close out the season with an upset against the second-ranked team in the country. Last season the Cornhuskers took care of the Terrapins with relative ease in straight sets on their way finishing as the runner-ups in the NCAA Tournament. They also had the opportunity to finish the season on a 29-match winning streak but fell just short.

Now the Cornhuskers are in a very familiar position as they were last season where they lost to Wisconsin in the penultimate match of the season and bounced back against Minnesota in the regular season finale. The Cornhuskers have proven to be one of the best teams in the country all season rather than a team carried by one or two great players. Seven of the team’s 13 players have over 100 points this season fueled by Harper Murray and Merritt Beason who both have over 300 points.
Also contributing to the offense are Andi Jackson and Rebekah Allick with 200 plus points, Taylor Landfair, Lindsay Krause and Bergen Reilly who all have over 100 points. That group along with Leyla Blackwell, Lexi Rodriguez, Olivia Mauch, Kennedi Orr, Laney Choboy and Maisie Boesiger form arguably the best team in the country.
