Miami and Florida State play the first match of a home-and-home series Wednesday night in women’s college volleyball.
One of the biggest rivalries in college sports is upon us when Florida State hosts its arch nemesis Miami in a battle for supremacy in women’s college volleyball. The Seminoles and Hurricanes will be entering conference play on very even footing. FSU is No. 18 in the country and Miami holds the No. 25 ranking with each team holding an 8-2 and a 9-2 record respectively. This will be the first meeting between the two rivals this week with the second match coming on Saturday in Coral Gables. Florida State is still undefeated at home with a 5-0 record. FSU is coming off a big win, sweeping Alabama on the road to end conference play. The first two sets against the Crimson Tide were close, but the Seminoles ran away with it in the third set to complete the sweep by a final score of 25-23, 25-23, 25-13. This is the best start for FSU through 10 games since 2021 when it started with the same 8-2 record.
