    No. 4 Louisville (7-1) takes a five-match winning streak into Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Kentucky on Wednesday night as it visits No. 11 Kentucky (6-3) in the annual Battle of the Bluegrass in women’s college volleyball. The Cardinals trail the all-time series with the Wildcats 37-28, but have won the last three meetings with Kentucky. Head coach Danu Busboom Kelly came to Louisville in 2016, where she is 180-39. The Cardinals lost in the Elite Eight to ACC rival Pitt to close out a 27-5 campaign. Craig Skinner enters his 20th year leading the Wildcats and is 450-150 with 19 straight NCAA appearances. Kentucky comes off a 21-8 campaign and lost in the regional semifinals last year.

    Louisville won two matches over the weekend in its Cardinal Classic, sweeping Northern Iowa on Saturday before taking a five-set match from then-No. 9 Creighton (25-18, 25-20, 10-25, 15-25, 15-8) on Sunday. Charitie Luper earned MVP honors for the event, helping finish off the Bluejays with 17 kills and 10 digs. Phekran Kong and Cara Cresse each had six blocks while Elena Scott finished with 23 digs.

    The Wildcats split two matches in Dallas at the SMU Doubletree Invitational, sweeping the hosts on Friday before falling in four sets on Saturday to then-No. 7 Purdue (25-21, 13-25, 23-25, 16-25). Brooklyn DeLeye finished with 13 blocks, while Molly Tuozzo notched 16 digs.

    Kentucky has won seven straight SEC titles. DeLeye leads the team with 127 kills and 18 service aces, while Brooke Bultema has a .302 attack percentage. Megan Wilson’s 30 blocks are a team-high and Tuozzo’s 117 digs leads the squad.

    Luper leads Louisville with 88 kills and a .352 attack percentage, with Anna DeBeer’s 10 service aces a team-best. Scott has 126 digs for the Cardinals.
