SEC play continues on Wednesday night for Arkansas as the team hosts Florida in women’s college volleyball.
On Wednesday night, Florida will hit the road and travel to take on Arkansas at Barnhill Arena for an SEC matchup. The Razorbacks are currently in sixth place in the conference standings with an SEC record of 4-4 and an overall record of 14-6. The team has now lost four matches straight with the most recent being a straight set loss to Mississippi State on the road on Sunday. Aniya Madkin was the only hitter in double figures for the Hogs, finishing the match with nine kills. Supporting her offensively was Hannah Hogue who provided 23 assists at setter. Collectively, the team only hit .122 in comparison to the Bulldogs’ .278, making it hard to compete. Courtney Jackson came up with 18 digs on defense, but it wasn’t enough to hold off Mississippi State.

The Gators are just ahead of the Razorbacks in the standings with a conference record of 5-3 and an overall record of 14-5. Contrary to Arkansas, No. 24 Florida is on a three-match win streak with the most recent being a four-set victory over Tennessee. Kennedy Martin set a new program record with her 31-kill match to break her own previous record of 28 kills, which she set last season, also against Tennessee. Taylor Parks supported offensive play with 40 assists and added four kills herself. As a team, the Gators reset their conference hitting-percentage high with a .444 clip. Libero Elli McKissock led the team defensively with 16 digs to help hold the Vols to a .278 hitting percentage.
Florida and Arkansas met twice last season and the Hogs won both matches with a straight set loss at home, before falling in five sets on the road. The Gators have won eight of the last 10 matches played against the Razorbacks in Fayetteville.
