UCLA and Washington will meet on Thursday night for the second semifinal of the Big Ten Tournament. Watch free on Fubo.
Newcomers UCLA and Washington have made a statement in the Big Ten Tournament and on Thursday night, the teams will meet at CITYPARK in St. Louis for a chance to play in the championship game. The sixth-seeded Huskies have been a surprise this season and the same rang true on Saturday as the team pulled off an upset over third-seeded Iowa. The teams played a scoreless match that ended up in penalties where Washington earned a 5-4 victory. Mia Hamant saved three penalties to help boost her team to the win. The shootout score was tied at 4-4 and the Hawkeyes had a chance to win it, but Hamant made a diving save to keep her team alive. Freshman Alex Buck stayed calm, cool and collected for her shot, putting it in the upper 90 to give the Huskies a 5-4 lead. Hamant, again, pushed a Hawkeye shot aside to win the game and advance to the semifinals.

The second-seeded Bruins finished regular season play with a conference record of 8-1-2 and are currently 14-3-3 overall after beating tenth-seeded Penn State 1-0 in the quarterfinals on Monday. The Nittany Lions played a good game, holding off the Bruins until the 35th minute when Nicki Fraser scored her first, and perhaps most important, goal of the season. UCLA outshot Penn State 16-6 and put three shots on frame. The Nittany Lions put two shots on goal, but Ryan Campbell saved both to earn her 14th clean sheet of the season.
Washington and UCLA have met 31 times in their histories and the Bruins hold a 25-4-2 record against the Huskies. When the teams met earlier this season, UCLA won by a narrow one goal margin in a 1-0 victory at home.
