Michigan State will make its way west on Thursday night as the Spartans take on Oregon in women’s college soccer.
On Thursday night, Oregon will welcome No. 5 Michigan State to Eugene as the teams play for the first time in Big Ten competition. The Ducks have struggled in conference play so far and bring a Big Ten record of 1-5-0 into Thursday night’s game as well as an overall record of 5-8. Oregon has now lost three games in a row with the most recent being a tough 2-0 loss to No. 21 USC on the road. The Trojans got on the board in the 18th minute to take an early lead. In net, Maddy Goldberg was peppered with shots, making six saves before she was sent off with a red card in the second half. Anna Solomon took over responsibilities and USC took advantage of a new goalie, putting in the second goal just five minutes after Goldberg’s removal. The Ducks will look to bounce back Thursday night, but a win is unlikely against the undefeated Spartans.
