Missouri and LSU will meet in the final regular season game on Sunday afternoon as the teams fight for a spot in postseason play.
The SEC regular season will come to a close on Sunday afternoon as Missouri hosts LSU at Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium. Both teams are right on the cusp of making it into postseason play with LSU being just out of reach and Missouri sitting in the 11th spot of 12 teams to qualify ahead of the season finale. The Tigers of LSU are currently 7-7-3 overall and 2-5-2 in conference play which has them sitting in 13th place. The team has played its last two games to draws to only add two points to its tally, with its most recent outing resulting in a 0-0 draw against Vanderbilt at home on Thursday night. The Commodores outshot the Tigers 18-11 in the match with nine shots on frame for Sophine Kevorkian to clean up in net for LSU. Her strong performance allowed her to earn her fourth clean sheet of the season, a stat she will look to improve upon with a shutout on Sunday.

Missouri is sitting in the 11th position in the SEC standings and while it is possible for the team to make it to postseason play where it currently sits, an additional three points would solidify that spot. The Tigers are currently 5-9-2 overall and 3-5-1 in conference play with the most recent game being a 3-1 loss to Texas on Thursday night. Missouri’s lone goal was scored by Keegan Good to open the scoring in the 10th minute of play, but the Longhorns fought back with three unanswered goals to secure the win. Mizzou only produced three second half shots to Texas’ seven. Kate Phillips made three saves in net for the Tigers, but it wasn’t enough.
Sunday’s contest will mark the 11th meeting between the two programs with LSU leading the all-time series 7-2-1. Mizzou leads the meetings at Walton Stadium 2-1-1.
