Rutgers will look to extend their win streak to seven games on Thursday night with a road win against Michigan.
On Thursday night, a Big Ten matchup will take place in Ann Arbor as Michigan hosts Rutgers. The Wolverines have struggled this season and bring an overall record of 2-7-1 into Thursday’s game with a conference record of 1-2 so far. The team snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday with a 3-2 win over Nebraska in front of a home crowd of 925 fans. The Huskers struck first with a goal in the seventh minute of play, but Michigan answered with back-to-back goals from Abby Zugay and Jenna Lang in the eighth and ninth minutes. Nebraska tied the game up again in the 17th minute and the teams went into halftime even. Taylor Brennan netted her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute to break the tie and Stephanie Sparkowski was able to keep the net clear for the remainder of the game to help the team to its first Big Ten win.

The Scarlet Knights have been on a hot streak over the last several weeks and have won six games in a row. The team’s most recent game resulted in a 1-0 win over Big Ten newcomer Washington to improve to 3-0 in conference play and 7-1-1 overall. Riley Tiernan scored her third goal of the season in the fourth minute of play to put Rutgers up 1-0. The Huskies put up nine shots, but Olivia Bodmer finished the game with three saves to earn her seventh straight shutout and eighth of the season. The team has only conceded one goal this season and will look to keep that streak going on Thursday night with another shutout in the hopes of breaking into the top 25.
Michigan has won two of the last three against the Scarlet Knights, including a 3-2 win the last time RU came to Ann Arbor in 2022. The all-time series now stands at 5-3-1 in Rutgers’ favor.
