No. 20 Ohio State will hit the road on Thursday to take on Indiana in the teams’ first Big Ten matchup of the 2024 season. The Hoosiers have found early success this season and come into conference play with an undefeated record of 5-0-1. The team has won two games in a row with the most recent being a 9-0 win over Lawrence University. It took until the 29th minute for the team to get on the board with a converted penalty kick from Piper Coffield. The floodgates opened from that point forward and Olivia Rush, Arianna Rose and Ellie Johannes each scored one goal apiece while Layla Sirdah scored four goals to power the offense. Jamie Gerstenberg was not challenged much in net and recorded her fourth shutout of the season.

The Buckeyes are also undefeated this season, but have played a much tougher schedule with three top 25 teams in the mix. The team opened the season against No. 24 Duke and earned a 1-0 win. After picking up two wins over unranked teams, the Buckeyes played to a 1-1 draw against No. 21 South Carolina. The team’s only loss of the season came against No. 13 Auburn its last time out in a 1-0 battle on the road. Molly Pritchard faced 14 shots in net and made three saves, but the one shot that snuck past her was the difference maker.
When Ohio State and Indiana met last season, Ohio State earned a 2-1 victory at home to bring the overall record to 17-13-3 in the Buckeyes’ favor. Tune in tonight to watch the two teams go head-to-head once again in the Big Ten opener.
