An Ivy League matchup will take place on Wednesday evening as Dartmouth hosts Harvard in women’s college soccer.
On Wednesday night, Harvard will take the trip to New Hampshire to play Dartmouth in an Ivy League matchup as the teams look to improve their positions in the standings. The Crimson come into Wednesday’s contest with an overall record of 4-2-4, but have struggled to find their footing in conference play, losing both games thus far for an Ivy League record of 0-2. On Saturday, the team hosted Columbia and battled hard, but fell in a close 2-1 defeat. The first half was scoreless, but Columbia got on the board 15 minutes into the second half to take a 1-0 lead. One minute later, Icelandic senior Áslaug Gunnlaugsdóttir put in the equalizer to get the Crimson back in the game. With just three minutes left to play, Rhiannon Stewart was beat in net with the game winner and Harvard suffered its second loss in a row.

The Big Green is also 0-2 in conference play, putting them in last place with Harvard. Most recently, the team traveled to New York to take on Cornell. Similarly to Harvard, Dartmouth played a scoreless first half against the Bears, but an early second half goal was the difference maker. The Big Green was outshot 13-6 and Emily Hardy made four big saves for Dartmouth to keep the game from getting out of hand. Despite a few opportunities in front of the goal, the team was unable to put one in the back of the net to tie the game.
When Dartmouth and Harvard met last year during conference play, the Crimson earned a 3-0 win at home to improve the all-time series record between the two teams to 23-17-4 in Harvard’s favor.
