The Golden Gophers have won four games in a row coming into this meeting. They swept Bemidji State two weekends ago with wins of 2-1 and 4-1. The prior weekend they swept Minnesota State, winning the two games 8-2 and 3-2. All four of those games were on the road, with this weekend’s series wrapping up a six-game road stretch for Minnesota that included a weekend off last weekend.
On the other side, Minnesota Duluth is unbeaten in its last four games. The Bulldogs were riding a three-game winning streak heading into the second of two games against Minnesota State in their most recent outing, but the game ended in a 3-3 tie. Like the Golden Gophers, the Bulldogs also were off last weekend.
