Alanna Devlin, Lauren Glaser and Sammy Taber each scored once in the second win while Abby Newhook finished the game with two more goals added to her stats for the season. Newhook now has five goals on the season which puts her at the top of the leaderboard on the roster along with Taber and Gaby Roy. Grace Campbell played the full game in net for the Eagles and made 32 saves to help her team earn its seventh straight win.

The Terriers came into the weekend with a spot at the top of the standings, having earned 23 points so far from a conference record of 7-1-1. Overall, No. 16 Boston University is 9-3-1 with the only losses coming against No. 2 Minnesota (twice) and Northeastern early in the season. Since then, the team has bounced back and was undefeated in the nine games leading up to Friday night’s.

Last weekend, the team played Merrimack twice, winning the first game 5-1 before playing to a 3-3 draw in the second meeting. Lindsay Bochna opened the scoring in the first period to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead. Luisa Welcke added to that lead two minutes later. Merrimack got on the board just before the end of the first and tied things up late in the second to take a 1-1 draw into the third period. Neely Nicholson gave the Terriers a 3-2 lead early in the third, but another goal from Merrimack just a few minutes later kept the game square at three until the final whistle. Callie Shanahan played between the pipes for BU and made five saves on the night in net.

Prior to Friday night’s game between these two strong squads, the all time record between them was 38-25-8 with the advantage being Boston College’s. Last year, the Terriers won one game, the Eagles won two and they played to a 3-3 draw in the fourth.
