Lucy Olsen and Iowa look to remain undefeated against Toledo in women’s college basketball on Wednesday.
This new-look Iowa (2-0) women’s basketball team led by Lucy Olsen has got off to a strong start, winning back-to-back games by a combined 37 points. Olsen, transferring from Villanova after three seasons, is averaging 19.5 points per game, while on pace to average career bests in assists and rebounds. She is filling in a playmaking and scoring void with one of the most balanced and seasoned rosters in the country. Olsen and the Hawkeyes started this season unranked and are still looking to crack the Top 25. On Wednesday is a Toledo (1-0) team that won its first game of the season and looks to pull off one of the biggest upsets in school history.

The Rockets started the season with a 71-68 home win over Marshall. In that game the senior trio of Hannah Noveroske (16 points and eight rebounds), Sammi Mikonowicz (15 points and six rebounds) and Khera Goss (11 points, 11 rebounds and four assists) paced the team for a win in the season-opener.
That veteran trio gives the Rockets an opportunity to get back to the NCAA Tournament under new head coach Ginny Boggess. After 16 seasons and two trips to the NCAA Tournament Tricia Cullop moved on to coach Miami (FL), giving the Rockets a fresh voice on the sideline.
Aside from Olsen the paint duo of Hannah Stuelke and Addison O’Grady give this season’s Hawkeyes an opportunity to compete again. Through two games they are combining for 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game on 63.1 percent shooting. Those two along with Olsen combine to make the Hawkeyes one of the more underrated teams in the country.
