Syracuse and Texas A&M will meet on Wednesday night in the ACC/SEC Challenge ahead of conference play.
On Wednesday night, Syracuse will travel to College Station to take on Texas A&M at Reed Arena for the ACC/SEC Challenge. The Aggies come into the home match with a record of 4-4 so far, having closed out the Battle 4 Atlantis with a 79-57 win over Southern Miss last week.
Against the Golden Eagles, Jada Malone led all scorers with a monster 26-point performance. Amirah Abdur-rahim added 14 points to the scoreboard while Sahara Jones and Solè Williams rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Four Aggies led on the boards with seven rebounds apiece to dominate on the boards. The team shot well from the field at 54 percent, but struggled from distance at just 21 percent. The Aggies will need to improve upon that mark to be able to compete in the SEC this season.

The Orange are also 4-4 so far this season and are also coming off of a win. The team’s most recent game was played against Yale on Sunday at home and resulted in a 78-50 victory in front of a crowd of 3,000. Georgia Woolley led all scorers with 16 points in the win while two of her teammates also found themselves in double digits. Shy Hawkins scored 11 points and Izabel Varejão added 12 points to the scoreboard and led on the boards with 11 rebounds to earn a double-double in the win.
Syracuse will need to work on its long range shooting moving forward as the Orange are only shooting 32 percent from beyond the arc right now. The Orange are averaging 41 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line.
The Orange and the Aggies will meet on the court for the fourth time in program history with the last meeting being a 75-65 win for then No. 18 Syracuse over then-No. 20 Texas A&M.
