A pair of 2024 NCAA women’s basketball tournament teams meet at Adidas Arena in Paris on Monday in an Aflac Oui-Play Game with Ole Miss and USC facing off.
Ole Miss comes into the 2024-25 season off its third straight NCAA tournament appearance and with the No. 20 ranking in the preseason Associated Press poll. The Rebels get a stiff test to open the season on Monday when they take on No. 3 USC, off an Elite Eight run, at Adidas Arena in Paris on an Aflac Oui-Play Game. The Trojans finished 29-6 last season, losing to UConn in the Elite Eight. It was USC’s deepest tournament run since 1994. Ole Miss was eliminated by Notre Dame in the second round last spring, finishing its season 24-9.

USC brings back super sophomore forward JuJu Watkins, who averaged 27.1 points per game as a freshman, while senior center Rayah Marshall put up 10.2 points and 10.5 rebounds an outing. Stanford graduate transfer Kiki Iriafen averages 19.4 points and 11.0 rebounds and comes to Los Angeles to team with Watkins up front. Other newcomers include transfer guard Talia von Oelhoffen (Oregon State) and freshmen Kennedy Smith, Kayleigh Heckel, Avery Howell, Rian Forestier, Laura Williams and Vivian Iwuchukwu.
The Rebels will have to replace guard Marquesha Davis, who went 11th in the WNBA draft to the champion New York Liberty. They also lost Marija Avlijas (Columbia), Zakiya Stephenson (James Madison) and Elauna Eaton (Memphis) to the transfer portal, bringing in Christeen Iwuala from UCLA, Starr Jacobs from Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Tameiya Sadler from Colorado. Ole Miss also added freshmen Heloisa Carrera from Brazil and Sira Thienou from Mali. Madison Scott is the top returner at 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, while Kennedy Todd-Williams put up 10.6 points a contest last season.
The Trojans, who have appeared in the last two NCAA tournaments, move from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten this season. Monday’s game is the first meeting between the Rebels and USC.
