Lehigh will close out a three-game road trip on Sunday with a contest against Brown in women’s basketball action.
On Sunday afternoon, the Brown Bears will work to get back to .500 with a win over the visiting Lehigh Mountain Hawks when the teams meet at Pizzitola Sports Center in non-conference play. The Bears come into Sunday’s contest with a record of 1-2 so far and will look to bounce back from their most recent game which resulted in a 68-53 loss to Holy Cross on Wednesday. Aima Ofunrein led the Bears’ offense with a 16-point performance and although Grace Arnolie and Olivia Young were also in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively, it wasn’t enough to get the job done against the Crusaders. Gianna Aiello pulled down eight rebounds to lead on the boards for Brown, but the team could not convert those rebounds into points to keep the game within reach. While Brown shot 90% from the free throw line, the team struggled from long range, only shooting 13% from beyond the mark; definitely an are they will need to work on moving forward.

The Mountain Hawks bring a record of 2-1 into Sunday’s game with the only loss coming against Big Ten heavyweight Michigan in an 86-55 loss before beating Northwestern handily in an 85-68 victory on Sunday. The game against the Wildcats started out evenly, but Lehigh had a monster second quarter to take a 16 point lead into the locker room. While Northwestern fought to get back in the game, Lehigh held them off for a huge Big Ten win.
Lily Fandre led the Mountain Hawks with a 26-point performance while Ella Stemmer added 18 points to the scoreboard and Maddie Albrecht rounded out the double-digit scorers with 16. Albrecht led on the boards with eight rebounds to narrowly miss a double-double in the win.
Lehigh and Brown have only met four times in their histories and the series is tied at 2-2. The Mountain Hawks have won the last two meetings with the most recent being a big 68-38 win back in 2007.
