Last season the Hawkeyes won this game 67-58 on the road led by their team defense. In that win Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin combined for 51 of the teams points. Brown and Crooks combined for 29 points and 22 rebounds, both finishing with double-doubles in the loss.
This season’s Hawkeyes are a very different bunch, led by Olsen, who is leading the way with 18.1 points, 5.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. Olsen scored 14 points two seasons ago against the Cyclones, while on Villanova and the season before Crooks and Brown joined the team.
Crooks and Brown have the opportunity to pull off the upset for the Cyclones and get to even against the Hawkeyes. They are combining to average 33.9 points, 15.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game as one of the best interior duos in the country.
