Georgia Tech, the No. 25 ranked women’s college basketball team in the country, will travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Sunday afternoon. In Chapel Hill, they will face off with the No. 14 ranked team in the nation, North Carolina, at Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels are 10-1 overall this season heading into this weekend and another top-25 matchup. Their only loss this season came against the former No. 2-ranked UConn by 11 points allowing Paige Bueckers, an All-American, to drop 29 points.

North Carolina bounced back by winning the Bad Boy Mowers Women’s Battle 4 Atlantis after taking down Ball State, Villanova, and Indiana in three straight games. The team also opened up this month with a top-25 win over former No. 14-ranked Kentucky in the SEC/ACC Women’s Challenge by 19 points, led by Reniya Kelly, who dropped 18 points with six assists in the win.
The Yellow Jackets head into this weekend after breaking into the top-25 rankings with an undefeated 10-0 record. They won four games in November before heading into their early-season tournament in the Hawai’i North Shore Showcase. They beat South Dakota Staet and former No. 21 Oregon in that tournament in back-to-back days.
They have taken down four more teams since December 1, including Mississippi State in the SEC/ACC Women’s Challenge and, most recently, UL Monroe by 60 points. Dani Carnegie, a freshman guard, leads the team in scoring this season with 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
