Non-conference play continues Tuesday night for DePaul and Loyola-Chicago at Gentile Arena.
On Tuesday night, DePaul will take a short road trip to take on Chicago foe Loyola-Chicago at Gentile Arena in a non-conference game. The Blue Demons will be looking to bounce back from a tough 79-58 win against Princeton on Saturday at home. The team seemed to struggle in front of 1200 fans despite having a five point lead after the first quarter. From there, the Tigers took over, blowing the Blue Demons away in the third quarter by a scored of 21-7. Jorie Allen was the only player to score in double figures for DePaul with 19 points, but it wasn’t enough to get the job done. Meg Newman led on the boards with a game-high nine rebounds, eight of which were defensive, but the team was unable to capitalize on those rebounds and dropped to 1-1 on the year with the loss.

The Ramblers will look to keep their undefeated streak going with a win on Tuesday night to move to 3-0 early in the 2024-2025 campaign. On Saturday, the team hosted West Georgia and played to a strong 76-60 victory in front of a home crowd of 400. Jess Finney led all scorers with 19 points on the day while Emma Theodorsson added 15 points to the stat sheet. Thoranna Kika Hodge-Carr pulled down five rebounds to lead the team on the boards and also added eight points to the scoreboard.
The Ramblers shot for 50% from the field and 32.1% from beyond the arc while delivering a strong 75% from the line. While the numbers could certainly be improved upon, on Saturday, it was enough to get the job done and then some.
DePaul and Loyola-Chicago have a storied history with Tuesday’s game being the 21st meeting between the teams. DePaul has been dominant in the all-time series with a 19-1 record, but the Ramblers will look to change that on Tuesday. The last time these two teams met resulted in a 93-72 win for the Blue Demons last year.
