Top-ranked UCLA is challenged by Creighton in women’s college basketball action on Friday.
The second game of the day in the Bay Area Classic presents an opportunity for unranked Creighton (9-2) to earn a massive upset. The Bluejays have won eight straight games, building momentum heading into their toughest test of the season. That test comes on Friday in the form of undefeated and top-ranked UCLA (11-0), who has earned its ranking this season. The Bruins have wins over two ranked teams this season, including previously top-ranked South Carolina and No. 17 Louisville (66-59). Six of those wins have come on the road or neutral sites in large part due to the veteran quartet of Lauren Betts, Kiki Rice, Gabriela Jaquez and Texas A&M transfer Janiah Barker.

Each member of the Bruins quartet is averaging double figures in scoring while contributing on both ends of the floor. The Bruins head into this matchup with the 19th best scoring offense (84.0 points per game) and the eighth best scoring defense (51.5 points allowed per game) in the country.
The Bluejays counter with one of the best duos in the country. Seniors Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly have been key members of the Bluejays for the past four seasons. Jensen continues to add to her game each season, leading to a career-best start, averaging 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
She is complemented by Maly who is in her fifth season with the Bluejays. She is also having a career-best start to the season averaging 17.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Those two give the Bluejays the opportunity to beat any team this season, including the top-ranked Bruins in the Bay Area Classic.
