This season Vanderbilt (12-1) has quietly played some of the best basketball in the country. The Commodores started the season with seven straight wins and have bounced back after their first loss with five more. They are the only duo in the country that averages over 20 points per game each in women’s college basketball.

Pierre has exploded in her sophomore season jumping from 8.9 points per game to 22.2 points per game. She is stuffing the statsheet every night with 11.5 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 1.8 assists per game on 58.6% shooting from the field.
Her evolution this season has come alongside one of the most dynamic freshmen in the country. Blakes is averaging 20.3 points, 3.7 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.6 rebounds per game. Those two are combining to make the Commodores one of the most dynamic perimeter defenses in the country.
The Bulldogs counter with a grinding pace and physical style. They are ninth in the country in free-throw attempts per game led by senior guard Kaila Walker. She is one of 35 players in the country to average at least six free-throw attempts per game this season.
