The Seattle Storm look to keep rolling against the last place Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday.
The Seattle Storm (23-14) are quietly playing some of the best basketball of the season right now as the regular season comes to a close. They have won three games in a row and six of the last 10 heading into Sunday’s game with the Los Angeles Sparks (7-30). One of the bright spots for Seattle has been the play of Gabby Williams coming out of the Olympic Break. That’s especially the case in the past five games. During this stretch she has clicked well with Jewell Loyd, Nneka Ogwumike, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Ezi Magbegor. As a starter she is averaging 12.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game on 61.4 percent shooting from the field.

Seattle is sitting in the fifth spot if the season ended today, but has the potential to leap the defending champion Las Vegas Aces with a strong finish to the season. After today, Seattle closes out the season at home against Las Vegas and then at home against the Phoenix Mercury. That’s setting the stage for a lot of potential changes in the standings over the final few days of the regular season.
The addition of Williams in the starting lineup has balanced out the starting five and elevated the play of Diggins-Smith. In her last five games Diggins-Smith is averaging 19.6 points, 5.8 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.4 blocks, making a huge impact on both ends of the floor.
For Los Angeles, this season has been about the development of rookie Rickea Jackson, who has found a rhythm and has become the focal point of the offense over the last 20 games, scoring in double figures 18 times while averaging 16.0 points per game.
