Poland will look to hand Portugal its first defeat of the UEFA Nations League campaign when it hosts the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo returns to UEFA Nations League duty on Saturday looking to maintain a 100% scoring record in this year’s competition away to a Poland team with its eyes on top spot. Just three points separate the Group A1 rivals as things stand, but a win for the host at Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw would be enough to pull level on points at the summit and potentially go first. Portugal is undefeated in its last five meetings with the Eagles, though it’s worth highlighting Poland has managed to hold the Iberian giant to a draw in three of those encounters.

After warming up to Euro 2024 with an extremely impressive run of form, Poland failed to set the world alight in Germany this summer and has returned to somewhat mediocre form.
Hopes were initially high for the team after striking at the death to secure victory in Scotland in their Nations League opener, but a 1-0 defeat to Croatia has since dampened the mood.
Portugal, on the other hand, has ground out 2-1 wins over both Croatia and Scotland, having to pull off a second-half comeback against the latter.
And who else but Ronaldo to save his side’s blushes and converting the deciding goal against the Scots after coming off the bench to maintain Portugal’s winning start:
The Al-Nassr forward netted the deciding goal in each of those wins last month, still going strong just a few months before he’s due to turn 40.
With 132 international goals and counting, Ronaldo will once more look to have the winning input against Poland, which would mean an automatic qualifying place for the play-offs is almost secured.
