Spain is 90 minutes from ensuring a first-place finish in its UEFA Nations League group as it hosts Denmark on Friday.
All Spain needs to ensure top spot in its UEFA Nations League group is a draw against Denmark on Friday, with a place in the last eight of the competition already assured for the champions of Europe. Luis de la Fuente’s side have dropped just two points from a possible 12 thus far in the contest, but a win over Denmark would be the icing on the cake to ease their way over the line in style. Martin Zubimendi’s goal was all that stood between these two sides when they faced off in October, but the Danes may yet revive some hope of a last-minute leapfrog with an upset in Copenhagen this weekend.

It’s been more than 30 years since Denmark last bested La Roja in any format, with the Spaniards piecing together an eight-game unbeaten stretch in this fixture since then.
Zubimendi supplied the only goal of the game as Spain eked out the narrowest of victories over Denmark when these teams clashed in Murcia last month.
The Spanish then followed up that result with a more conclusive 3-0 victory at home to Serbia three days later, where Aymeric Laporte, Alvaro Morata and Alex Baena got on the score sheet:
However, there will be no procession on Friday given Denmark boasts a 100 percent record at home so far in the Nations League, repelling both Switzerland and Serbia with relative ease.
Both teams lost 2-0 at Parken when they travelled in September, and new coach Brian Riemer will be hopeful of maintaining that record against the titanic force of Group A1.
Former Anderlecht coach Riemer will make his debut as Denmark boss on Friday, though the pressure on his shoulders will be somewhat lesser thanks to the level of opposition.
