Olimpico Stadium is set to host the exciting mid-week matchup between home side Lazio and visiting club OGC Nice on Thursday in UEFA Europa League action. The Serie A side won both of its previous European meetings with the Ligue 1 side, winning 3-1 away and 1-0 at home in the 2017-18 UEFA European League. OGC Nice has played six matches against Italian clubs in all European competitions and lost all six by an aggregate score of 13-1. Meanwhile, Lazio has won its last three home European matches in a row, winning all three without conceding in last season’s UEFA Champions League. The club won four matches in a row on home soil in major European competition in February 2016.

Since a 5-1 victory at Zulte Waregem in September 2017, Nice has lost its last six away matches in a row in the UEFA Europa League.
Lazio, on the other hand, will be looking to win its opening two matches in a major European tournament for the first time since 2017-18. Lazio beat Dynamo Kiev 3-0 on matchday one thanks to goals from Boulaye Dia and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Dia notched a brace in the first half of the win away from home.
Meanwhile, the French club hosted Real Sociedad to a 1-1 draw on Sep. 25, where Pablo Rosario scored the equalizer in the 45th minute. It was the first-ever meeting between Nice and the La Liga side in European competition.
