Entering Sunday, Team Georgia was in first place with a two stroke lead, having shot a 67 on the day. Utah followed Georgia with a 65 while Florida and Virginia rounded out the top four with a 59 and 55, respectively.
Each of the 12 teams competing were composed of four two-person scrambles who played nine holes. The top three scoring partner-groups for each state were combined and the worst partner-group score was dropped to make up the collective State team score. The partner-groups will then go back out and play a second set of nine holes. Vivian Lott and Koiki Miyagi were the top scoring group for team Georgia with a seven under par in both the first and second set of nine.
Tune in Sunday afternoon as these young golfers compete for the last time in the hopes of winning it all in Texas.
