DJ Uiagalelei and Florida State will take the field against Kevin Jennings and SMU on Saturday night.

Florida State will head on the road in Week 5 of the college football season to take on SMU, an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent, at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday night. The Seminoles have had one of the roughest opening games to a season in recent history. After starting the season as a highly ranked team, they have since lost three games to open the season starting with Georgia Tech 24-21 at home in Week 1 followed by 28-13 at home in Week 2 against Boston College, and capstone again at home 20-12 against Memphis in the first three weeks. They finally picked up their first win of the season 14-9 last week against Cal before heading on the road for the first time this season in this game. Clemson and Oregon State transfer DJ Uiagalelei had 843 yards with just two touchdowns and three interceptions this year. Ja’khi Douglas has been the main beneficiary on the opposite ends of his passes with 13 receptions for 224 yards and one of his two scores.

The Mustangs are 3-1 this season starting the year with a win on the road against Nevada 29-24. They followed it up with a win against Houston Christian 59-7 in the team’s first home game. Week 3 was the team’s only loss at home against BYU getting back in the win column and beating TCU last week 66-42.

Cincinnati will head on the road in Week 5 of the college football season to take on Texas Tech, a Big 12 Conference rival, at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday night. The Bearcats are 3-1 overall this season and 1-0 against Big 12 opponents heading into this road matchup this week. They opened the season with a big win 38-20 over Towson at home and followed it up with a narrow home loss to Pittsburgh 28-27 for their only loss thus far this season. In Week 3, they went on the road for the first time and beat Miami (OH) 27-16 before coming back home last week and beating their first Big 12 opponent in Houston 34-0 in a shutout. Brendan Sorsby has led this team this season with 1,055 yards and eight touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception this season. Xzavier Henderson has been his favorite target with 25 receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns. He has almost a third of his completions and yards thrown from Sorsby.

They went on the road and lost their first game in Week 2 against Washington State 37-16 before winning two straight heading into this game at home against North Texas 66-21 and Arizona State 30-22.

Behren Morton has been electric for this team with 1,175 yards on 103 completions for 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. Josh Kelly leads the team in receiving yards with 376 yards on 31 receptions for three touchdowns while Tahj Brooks, one of the best backs in the nation, has 71 carries for 379 yards and two scores.

No. 8 Montana heads on the road to face Eastern Washington at Roos Field on Saturday.

With the visitors riding a two-game winning streak heading into a matchup in Cheney this weekend, No. 8 Montana takes on Eastern Washington at Roos Field on Saturday. 

After opening the season with a loss to No. 20 North Dakota, the eighth-ranked Grizzlies have won two consecutive games to improve to 3-1 this season. However, Montana has won all three games at home, with an 0-1 record away from Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Eastern Washington, on the other hand, has lost three straight games after its opening win to drop to 1-3 this season. These two teams will now open Big Sky play, with Montana winning the last two contests, including a 63-7 beatdown in the 2022 season.

Most recently, Montana’s offense powered by Western Carolina in a 46-35 victory in Missoula last week. The Grizzlies overcame a slow start to outscore Western Carolina 46-18 in the final three quarters. Keali’i Ah Yat led a Montana rushing attack that gained 349 yards on the ground, with Ah Yat finishing the game with 146 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. 

As for Eastern Washington, the Eagles fell in an FBS matchup to Nevada by a final score of 49-16 in Reno last Saturday. Eastern Washington only managed 178 passing yards, while the Wolf Pack averaged 7.1 yards per attempt for 320 rushing yards. Gio Lopez and South Alabama will take the field against No. 14 LSU and Garrett Nussmeier on Saturday night.

South Alabama will head on the road in Week 5 of the college football season to take on LSU, the No. 14-ranked team in the country, on Saturday night at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Tigers are 3-1 this season through the first three weeks. They opened up the season with a loss in the first week to a ranked USC team, 27-20 at home. They bounced back in Week 2 with a win against Nicholls at home 44-21. They went on the road in Week 3 and beat South Carolina, their first SEC opponent, narrowly 36-33 before heading back home to take on UCLA winning 34-17. Garrett Nussmeier leads the team under center with 1,247 yards already as well as 13 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Aaron Anderson has been his favorite target with 21 receptions for 298 yards and a touchdown while on the ground Josh Williams leads the team with 134 yards and two scores.

They bounced back and have won both their last two games at home against Northwestern State 87-10 and on the road at Appalachian State 48-14.

Memphis looks to bounce back at home against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday.

After suffering their first loss of the season last week in Annapolis, Memphis looks to get back in the win column when it hosts Middle Tennessee State at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on Saturday. 

The Tigers opened the season with three consecutive wins, including an upset victory over Florida State. However, Memphis dropped its first game of the year to fall to 3-1 with a loss against Navy last week. The Tigers are still a perfect 2-0 at home this season, but are 0-1 in conference play. Middle Tennessee State, on the other hand, lost three consecutive games to drop to 1-3 on the season. The Blue Raiders are 0-1 in conference play and lost their only road game against Ole Miss earlier this month. Memphis took care of business in a 36-17 win the last time these two teams met in the 2014 season.

Most recently, Memphis’s defense couldn’t slow down the Navy offense in a 56-44 loss to Midshippmen last week in Annapolis. The Tigers racked up 659 total yards of offense with 385 passing yards in the loss. Memphis had a pair of 100-yard rushers in Brandon Thomas and Mario Anderson Jr., while Roc Taylor and Koby Drake also eclipsed 100 receiving yards.

As for Middle Tennessee State, the Blue Raiders fell at home to the Blue Devils in a 45-17 loss to Duke last week. Middle Tennessee State got off to a great start, with RB Jalden Credle taking a handoff 64 yards to the house to take an early 7-0 lead. However, it was all Duke from there.

Stanford will head on the road in Week 5 of the college football season to take on Atlantic Coast Conference rival Clemson, the No. 17 ranked team in the nation, at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina, on Saturday night. The Tigers come into this week with a 2-1 record through the first four weeks of the season. They opened the year with their toughest opponent of the season taking on SEC side Georgia, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation at the time, and lost 34-3 at home. They stayed at home in Week 2 and won 66-20 against Appalachian State heading into their bye week. They took down NC State 59-35 last week in their first ACC game of the season at home. Cade Klubnik has 729 yards and eight touchdowns with only one interception in three games. He is 58-for-79 on completions. Antonio Williams has been his favorite target with 12 receptions for 129 yards and three touchdowns while Phil Mafah has handled the ground work with 284 yards and two scores.

No. 3 Montana State looks to stay perfect on the road against Idaho State on Saturday.

With the road team riding a four-game winning streak heading into Pocatello this weekend, No. 3 Montana State puts its perfect record on the line against Idaho State on Saturday. 

Montana State has rattled off four-straight wins to open the season with a perfect 4-0 record, including two road wins at Utah Tech and New Mexico to start the year. The Bobcats will now open Big Sky play after running the table in their non-conference slate. Idaho State, on the other hand, got back in the win column last week to improve to an even 2-2 on the season. The Bengals are a perfect 2-0 at home as they begin conference play this week. Montana State has dominated this matchup with a 13-3 record, including two consecutive wins over Idaho State.

Most recently, Montana State dominated in all three phases in a 52-13 victory over Mercyhurst in Bozeman last week. The Bobcats scored on seven of their first nine possessions, with a season-high 502 total yards of offense. Quarterback Tommy Mellott threw for 214 yards and  three touchdowns, while running back Colson Coon had a career-high 102 rushing yards. 

As for Idaho State, the Bengals used a big first half to earn a 38-28 victory over Southern Utah in Pocatello last week. Running back Dason Brooks had a huge day with a 75-yard touchdown. Brooks finished the game with 136 rushing yards while Jayden Bell had a team-high 10 tackles.

Kevin Coleman Jr. and Mississippi State will take the field against Isaiah Bond and No. 1 ranked Texas on Saturday afternoon.

Mississippi State will head on the road in Week 5 of the college football season to take on the top-ranked team in the nation and Southeastern Conference rival, Texas, on Saturday afternoon at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. The Longhorns come into this game undefeated through four contests and have yet to play a game in the SEC with this being their conference opener. They dominated in their season opener against Colorado State on the road 52-0 before heading on the road to the reigning champions, Michigan, and winning 31-12. They came back home in Week 3 beating UTSA 56-7 following it up with a win against Louisiana-Monroe last week 51-3. Quinn Ewers leads the team in passing with 691 yards and eight touchdowns with two interceptions this season. He went down with an injury a couple of weeks ago which led to Arch Manning taking over for him and starting last game as well. The Alabama transfer Isaiah Bon has been the team’s best receiver with 15 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bulldogs are 1-3 heading into this week with a 0-1 record against conference opponents in that time frame. They won their first game of the year against Eastern Kentucky 56-7 and have since lost three straight games. They went on the road and lost to Arizona State 30-23, came back home and lost to Toledo 41-17, and last week was taken down at home against by Florida 45-28 in their first conference game.

Blake Shapen leads the team under center with 974 yards and eight touchdowns with an interception. His favorite target has been Kevin Coleman Jr.who has 22 receptions for 287 yards and three scores. Johnnie Daniels leads the team in rushing with 158 yards and one touchdown.

The Victory Bell is on the line this Saturday when North Carolina visits Duke in a rivalry matchup.

It’s a bounce-back week for North Carolina (3-1, 0-0 ACC) in Week 4 after losing 70-50 at home last week to James Madison. That was UNC’s first loss of the year and one that clearly cut deep, with head coach Mack Brown reportedly telling the team after the game that the result made him contemplate retirement. Brown has since clarified those comments and remains at the head of UNC football, and now will try to lead the team back into the win column. He’ll have a big spot to do it, as the Tar Heels visit in-state rival Duke (4-0, 0-0 ACC) at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Duke is riding high off of its biggest win of the year. The Blue Devils were on the road last week and were all over Middle Tennessee State, coming out of Murfreesboro with a 45-17 win. Duke outgained MTSU 340-295, holding the Blue Raiders to 3.9 yards per play on offense.

This rivalry between Duke and North Carolina – two schools that are just 10 miles apart – dates back to 1888, and has been played annually since 1922. UNC leads the all-time series 64-40 with four ties, and is currently on a five-year winning streak. That includes back-to-back wins by UNC in Durham in 2022 and 2020.

The last two games have come down to the wire. The 2022 game was won by UNC 38-35, when last year the Tar Heels needed double overtime to win 47-45.

Arkansas will head on the road in Week 5 of the college football season to take on the No. 24 ranked team in the nation, Texas A&M, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday afternoon. The Aggies head into this game with a 3-1 record through four games this season and a 1-0 record against Southeastern Conference opponents. They opened their season up with their only loss thus far losing to Notre Dame 23-13. They have since won three straight games beating McNeese 52-10, Florida, their first conference opponent, 33-20, and Bowling Green State 26-20 last week. The team’s starting quarterback Conner Weigman threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions before getting hurt. He has since missed time and Marcel Reed has taken his place. Reed has thrown for 422 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions. Weigman is a game-time decision today. Le’Veon Moss leads all running back with 354 yards on 663 carries for three touchdowns.

Oklahoma looks to gets its first SEC win on Saturday afternoon when it visits Auburn

The Oklahoma Sooners hit the road on Saturday afternoon when it takes on the Auburn Tigers. The Sooners come to town looking to bounce back from a loss to the Tennessee Volunteers last Saturday and get their first ever SEC win. The Sooners came to the SEC with rival Texas from the Big 12 in the offseason. They struggled in their first game against the Volunteers and they are now 3-1 on the season. The big story coming out of Oklahoma is the quarterback change. Jackson Arnold started the first four games, but has been struggling and is being replaced by Michael Hawkins Jr. Arnold three for 538 yards and seven touchdowns, but three interceptions. Hawkins Jr. has thrown for 149 yards and a touchdown in limited action. The Sooners are hoping the change can get their offense going as they try and get even in the conference standings.

The Tigers, though, are looking to keep the Sooners offense struggling as they try and bounce back from a 24-14 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The Tigers have not had a great start to the season as they have lost two of their first four games. They have beat Alabama A&M and New Mexico, but fell to Cal and the Razorbacks.

The offense has been good in their two wins, but struggled in the two losses. Payton Thorne and Hank Brown have combined to throw for 1,103 yards and 13 touchdowns, but they have also thrown eight interceptions.

San Diego State looks to bounce back on the road against Central Michigan on Saturday.

With the road team looking to snap a two-game losing streak in Mount Pleasant this weekend, San Diego State heads on the road to visit Central Michigan at Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Saturday. 

Following a win to open the season, the Aztecs have dropped two straight games to fall to 1-2 through three weeks. San Diego State is looking for its first road win with a 0-1 record away from Sanpdragon Stadium, and will now face a Central Michigan team that is coming off a big win over Ball State last week. The Chippewas improved to 2-2 overall, 1-0 in conference play, and 2-0 at home. This is the second matchup between these two teams, with the Aztecs earning a 48-11 win over Central Michigan in their first meeting back in 2019.
