The SEC women’s gymnastics championships at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans opens on Saturday with Arkansas, Missouri, Auburn and Georgia.
The Southeastern Conference women’s gymnastics championships open Saturday afternoon at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The competition promises to be fierce with all eight teams ranked among the top 20 nationally. The first session includes No. 12 Arkansas, No. 13 Missouri, No. 14 Auburn and No. 18 Georgia and all of the teams are qualified for the NCAA regionals. Florida, ranked No. 4, comes in as the two-time defending conference champions and won the regular-season title with a 6-1 mark while No. 2 LSU was second at 5-2. The Gators regular-season title was their fifth in a row.

Hailey Klein of the Razorbacks posted the top score on the vault among the teams in the first session with a 9.9750 on March 15. Teammate Reese Drotar logged a 9.9750 on the bars in the same meet against Nebraska on March 15, while Sienna Schreiber of Missouri recorded a perfect 10 on the balance beam against Arkansas on March 3.
Three gymnasts scored 9.9750 on floor exercises, including Frankie Price and Maddie Jones from the Razorbacks and Missouri’s Kennedy Griffin. Price’s performance came against Kentucky on Feb. 23 while Jones posted her season’s best in the meet against Nebraska. Griffin’s best effort came against LSU back on Jan. 26.
Among those in the all-around, Cassie Stevens of Auburn recorded a 39.7000 against Alabama on Feb. 9.
