The future is here for a select few as the first round of the NFL Draft is live from Detroit on Thursday night. The Chicago Bears will have the first pick thanks to a trade with the Carolina Panthers last season. The Bears are believed to be ready to take USC quarterback Caleb Williams, but GM Ryan Poles isn’t giving it away yet. “Unfortunately, it’s one of those things I think everyone’s got to tune in on Thursday to watch and figure out, but I feel really good about our process and where we are and where we’re headed,” Poles said during his pre-draft news conference. “We know what we’re going to do, but everyone is going to have to wait until Thursday to go there.”

While it looks like Williams is going to go first, there is some debate on who will go second to the Washington Commanders. Jayden Daniels out of LSU looks like he will be the second pick, but JJ McCarthy has been racing up draft boards and Drake Maye is also a possibility.
The New England Patriots have the third pick and are also in the market for a quarterback after they traded Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Quarterbacks are going to dominate the early part of the draft, but receivers are also expected to be picked in the top 10 as Marvin Harrison Jr. out of Ohio State, Malik Nabers of LSU and Rome Odunze of Washington are all top prospects.
