After opening the season with two consecutive wins to kick off the year on a positive note, Michigan State welcomes Prairie View A&M to East Lansing for a matchup at Spartan Stadium on Saturday. The Spartans are a perfect 2-0 after wins over Florida Atlantic and a conference victory against Maryland last week. Michigan State is 1-0 at home and opened Big Ten play with a win as well, positioning themselves for a 3-0 start to the season. Prairie View A&M, on the other hand, got into the winner’s circle to even its record at 1-1 with a win over Northwestern State last week. This is the first matchup between these two teams in the series’ history.

Most recently, Michigan State made a statement with a 27-24 victory over Maryland for its first conference win of the season. Spartans kicker Jonathan Kim hit a 37-yard field goal with one second remaining to lift Michigan State to a win. Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles threw for 363 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win.
As for Prairie View A&M, it notched its first win of the season with a 37-31 victory over Northwestern State in a non-conference matchup last week. Connor Wisham ran for 83 yards to lead the Panthers on the ground, while quarterback Cameron Peters threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
