Indiana looks to keep their magical season rolling and improve to 7-0 when they host Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.
No. 16 Indiana is one of the best stories in all of college football when they take on Nebraska for Big Noon Saturday. The Hoosiers are already bowl eligible with a 6-0 record and that is the fastest the school has ever reached that eligibility. They’d probably be in the Top 10 if they didn’t start outside of the Top 25 to start the season. This couldn’t have been a better start to the regime of first-year head coach Curt Cignetti. This is going better than when Michael Penix Jr. was on the team a few years ago before experiencing injuries and transferring to Washington. Indiana has scored 40 or more points in a school-record five straight games. This has been such a great start that the Hoosiers are only one of two teams in the nation that haven’t trailed at any point this season. They are trying to keep pace with Oregon and Penn State as the only remaining undefeated Big Ten teams. Indiana will be led by QB Kurtis Rourke who has 14 touchdowns compared to two interceptions. The Hoosiers will nearly be touchdown favorites at home against the 5-1 Cornhuskers.

But this is the best team Indiana has played to date in Nebraska. The Cornhuskers will undoubtedly be underdogs in this matchup but they’ve have bounced back nicely after an overtime loss against Illinois a few weeks ago. They’ve won two games in a row since and have had two weeks to prepare for this game. Nebraska had 13 turnovers through six games last season and now they only have four. That has a lot to do with the maturity of freshman QB Dylan Raiola and it doesn’t hurt the team’s cause that this Blackshirt defense is showing up in a huge way. This will be a great way to kick off a great slate of Week 8 games.
