The Montreal Victoire will take a road trip on Saturday to take on the Toronto Sceptres in PWHL play. Montreal has played three games so far this season and has a 1-1-0-1 record. The latest game for Montreal resulted in a 2-1 win over Ottawa. Montreal took the lead eight minutes into the second period with a goal by Marie-Philip Poulin, however, Ottawa was able to equalize the score at the 15-minute mark. Mikyla Grant-Mentis scored the go-ahead goal with just two minutes remaining in the second period. From there, Montreal was able to hold on to the lead and take home a victory. Goalie Elaine Chuli made 26 saves with 27 shots attempted to anchor the defense.

Toronto has struggled so far this season and brings a record of 1-3 into Saturday’s contest with its latest game being a 4-2 loss to New York. Against the Sirens, the Sceptres fell behind early as New York scored all four of its goals during the second period. Toronto was able to cut the lead to two goals after Hannah Miller and Emma Woods found the back of the net, but thats as close as Toronto could come. Miller and Woods each earned an assists on each other’s goals, as well.
Both teams will be back in action next weekend with Montreal taking on the defending champions, the Minnesota Frost and Toronto hosting the Boston Fleet on Friday night.
