Rhode Island FC will head on the road this weekend in another week of USL Championship soccer to take on the Las Vegas Lights FC in Nevada tonight. The Lights are 3-0-3 this season ranking No. 5 in Group West. They are one of just three teams in the conference that haven’t had a draw this season and the only one above the bottom three teams. They have a total of nine points tied with San Antonio on the table. They are one point behind New Mexico and three points behind the conference-leading Orange County and Sacramento. They took down San Antonio 1-0 with a goal from Shawn Smart followed by a 3-1 loss to Monterey Bay with their only goal from Gaoussou Samake. That was Samake’s second goal of the season and is now tied with Valentin Noël in five appearances each. Coleman Gannon, Smart, and Riki Alba have each scored a goal this season. Gannon and Smart have six games each and Alba has played in just four games.
