The Ottawa Charge (2-3-1, 7 points) and Toronto Sceptres (2-3-1, 7 points) come into Tuesday night’s matchup at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto tied for fourth place in the Professional Women’s Hockey League standings. Toronto hopes to defend home ice after losing at Ottawa 3-2 back on Dec. 3 in the first meeting between the teams. The Charge snapped a three-game losing skid with a road victory on Sunday while the Sceptres stopped a four-game slide with a win at home on Friday. Toronto finished with the best regular-season record last season, the PWHL’s debut campaign.

Emerence Maschmeyer stood tall in goal on Sunday, making 34 saves in Ottawa’s 3-1 victory over the New York Sirens. The Charge built a 3-0 lead with KateÅ™ina Mrázová’s first goal of the season 6:53 into the second period and hung on from there. Emily Clark had a first-period marker and Shiann Darkangelo netted a goal 3:26 into the second period.
The Sceptres never trailed on Friday in a 4-2 win over the visiting Boston Fleet. Blayre Turnbull scored at 14:13 of the first period while Jessica Kondas, Emmas Woods and Kali Flanagan also lit the lamp. Raygan Kirk made 26 saves for her first win of the season in net.
Maschmeyer leads the PWHL with a .929 save percentage and is 2-2-1 in five games with a 2.20 goals-against average. Tereza VaniÅ¡ová leads Ottawa with three goals and six points. Sarah Nurse’s three goals are the team-high for Toronto while Renata Fast leads the team with six points, all assists. Kristen Campbell is 1-3-0 in four starts in goal, with a 3.59 GAA and .877 save percentage.
