Liverpool aims to take top of the Premier League table in a trip to face winless Wolverhampton
Pulling just one point form its first five matches, Wolverhampton Wanderers face a tough test today as Liverpool swings into Molineux Stadium vying for the top of the Premier League table in the final fixture of September. Liverpool avenged its only loss of the campaign with a 3-0 home win over AFC Bournemouth and today looks for its 15th win in 16 league matches against Wolves since 2011. Wolverhampton has yet to find a defensive presence allowing two or more goals in four of its five matches being outscored 14-5 in that span, meanwhile Liverpool has netted two or more goals in four of its first five fixtures and have only allowed one goal on the campaign.

Liverpool forward Luis DÃaz has five goals in his first five games this season after posting a pair of goals in last Saturday’s 3-0 home win over Bournemouth. DÃaz, the 27-year-old Colombian, netted a career-high 14 goals in his final season with Porto before joining Liverpool on a five-year deal in January of 2022 where he has tallied 21 goals in 72 EPL contests.
Matheus Cunha leads Wolves with two goals on the season scoring the lone Wolverhampton tally in last Saturday’s loss to Aston Villa. Cunha is in his third season with the club and comes into this season off a career-best 12 goals last season.
Liverpool owns the all-time series lead 16-2-2 in Premier League play with seven away victories. Wolves lone home win against The Reds came in February of 2023 getting an own goal in the fifth minute en route to a whopping 3-0 victory.
