Southampton is still seeking its first win of the Premier League season as Everton comes to town on Saturday.
The pressure is building on Russell Martin to end Southampton’s search for a first win of the Premier League season when Everton visits the team currently sat bottom of the table. The Saints have scraped a measly point from the first 27 on offer so far this season and looking like near-certainties for relegation, while the Toffees are undefeated in five ahead of their trip to St. Mary’s Stadium. Southampton has already managed to ‘beat’ Everton once already this term after knocking Sean Dyche’s men out of the League Cup on penalties in September, but the stakes are even higher on the south coast.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis cancelled out Abdoulaye Doucoure’s opener at Goodison Park six weeks ago to secure a 1-1 draw as Southampton advanced in the League Cup.
The Saints have since defeated Stoke City to reach the quarter-finals of the competition in what’s been a rare glimmer of optimism, though their fans would undoubtedly prefer Premier League survival if given the choice.
