Top Fuel is making history today with four female drivers qualifying. Brittany Force qualified third, Jasmine Salinas qualified seventh while both Ida Zetterstrom and Julie Nataas will compete against Steve Torrence and Tony Schumacher respectively.

In Funny Car, reigning world champion and last year’s winner here at the Midwest Nationals, Matt Hagan qualified eighth. He is looking to repeat his success from last season and climb up the standings. Heading into today’s race Hagan is fourth in the standings, 153 points off the lead behind Prock, Bob Tasca III and John Force.
