The battered Toronto Maple Leafs bring a three-game winning streak into Sunday night’s visit from the Utah Hockey Club.
The Toronto Maple Leafs (12-6-2, 26 points) have climbed to the top of the Atlantic Division despite an lengthy injury list, winning three straight and six of their last seven games. On Sunday night, the Maple Leafs return to action when they host the Utah Hockey Club (8-9-3, 19 points) at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Utah ended a three-game losing streak with a win on Saturday night. Toronto is without superstar Auston Matthews (upper body), Max Pacioretty (lower body), Max Domi (lower body) and four other players on injured reserve. The Hockey Club placed goalie Connor Ingram (upper body) on injured reserve last week.

Dylan Guenther scored two goals and added an assist as Utah blasted the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-1 on Saturday night. Logan Cooley assisted on two of the Hockey Club’s goals and Karel Vejmelka stopped 27 shots. Guenther’s nine goals lead the team while Clayton Keller has six goals and 19 points. Vejmelka is 2-5-0 in seven starts with a .927 save percentage and 2.21 goals-against average.
The Maple Leafs last played on Wednesday, with Joseph Woll stopping 31 shots in a 3-0 blanking of the visiting Vegas Golden Knights. William Nylander recorded a goal and an assist in the victory. Nylander leads the club with 13 goals and Mitch Marner has six tallies and 26 points. Anthony Stolarz is 7-3-2 in 12 starts with an NHL-best .927 save percentage and 2.18 GAA.
Sunday’s game marks Utah’s first visit to Toronto and the teams will meet again in Salt Lake City on March 10.
